1. Logistics company versus a carrier steamship company. Explanation?
Carriers will usually handle your cargo from port-to-port basis, or commonly referred to as a CY / CY move.
A logistics company, such as RDD, will handle your cargo from the the supplier-manufacturer door in a foreign locations directly to your door in the United States or other destinations in the world. A logistics company communicates directly with your supplier-manufacturer to insure production and shipment timetables. We conclude a shipment when it has landed at your final destination. RDD intergrates our services through your supply chain from origin to final destination.

2. Taking advantage of Superior Carrier Service Contract - What does this mean?
RDD has superior contracts as reflected in our rates levels and service details, this is due to our personal relationships with the carriers. RDD's volume of business also supports are competitive rates, and insure us vessel space capacity when ships are running full ex Asia.

3. Network of RDD offices and appointed agents - How does this benefit our customers?
Our Network of RDD offices in all of the commercial center in China gives you the best service locations with the most qualified personnel to serve your requirements. RDD's appointed agents are strictly evaluated for experience and operations. Combined with the direct RDD offices and our appointed agents we offer our customers the best of services with local and global knowledge.

4. Will I need to change my current Custom House Broker relationship?

No, in fact we encourage our customers to retain their current set up with their CHB. If our customers wish to change that is fine as well RDD will integrate the transportation process through to your CHB, keeping them completely informed and equipped with all documentation necessary for proper handling and U.S. Custom entry.

5. Can RDD handle U.S. Custom Clearance for import cargos?
Yes, RDD is a fully licensed Custom House Broker, we can provide all services related to the import process. Along with transportation and customs clearance, our customers are kept well informed and updated on all matters related to their cargo/shipments.

6. Does RDD handle shipments as an agent if importers have service contracts with carriers directly?
It is not a problem to act as an agent to follow up on all shipments under our customers' service contracts. The advantage is that RDD may provide the services for some shipments that the carriers do not have or are not covered by the service contracts such as air freight and LCL shipments.
